The mounting block, for insertion into grooves of profiled aluminum rails to lock fittings, has a locking padding on the block. The padding is of rubber, knitted fabric or foam materials, adhesive bonded to the rear side of the block. When the block is moved into the groove, the padding presses against the rear wall of the aluminum profile, and remains in place until forced into a different position. The block is moved into place with a light pressure.
