PURPOSE:To transfer continuously the contents of the main memory of a faulty device to a host computer, by operating a switch for switching to a stand-by device if an in-use device betweer duplicated communication controllers becomes faulty, and sending a dump program to a center. CONSTITUTION:A subcenter 30 is provided with duplicated remote communication controllers 33 and 34, changeover switches 35 and 36, and a switching device 37. If the in-use device 33 becomes abnormal, that is reported to the switching device 37. The switching device 37 controls the switches 35 and 36 to change connections from the device 33 to the stand-by device 34. The device 33 transfers the bootstrap program from an ROM to the main memory and saves the contents of the main memory wherein the dump program is stored in an auxiliary storage device. Then, the dump program is transfer from the auxiliary storrage device to the main memory. A host computer 31 generates a dump command for investigating the cause of the switching from the device 33 to the device 34. On receiving it, the device 34 sends a command to the device 33 to send data from the device 33 to the computer 31. |
