PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive nonsilver material, by applying a metallic complex salt of dithio-oxalic acid to a support together with a binder and by carrying out drying. CONSTITUTION:A metallic complex salt of dithio-oxalic acid having a chemical structure represented by a formula NM3(C2S2O2)3 (where N is an alkali metal such as Na and/or an alkaline earth metal, and M is Fe or Co as a transition metal) is used as a photosensitive component. A suitable binder is a water-soluble polymer such as gelatin or polyvinyl alcohol, and a glass plate, a polyethylene film or baryta paper is used as a support. The complex salt is mixed with the binder, applied to the support, and dried to obtain a photosensitive material. When an image is recorded, the material is exposed to an ultraviolet light source and immersed in an aqueous alkali soln. Since the exposed part is insoluble and the unexposed part is dissolved, fixing is carried out. The image is hardened and stabilized by further immersion in a physical developer. The photosensitive wavelength region of the iron complex salt is 240-460nm, that of the cobalt complex salt is 240-360nm, and the salts are hardly sensitive to a usual fluorescent lamp, so the photosensitive material can be developed in a daylight room. |
