PURPOSE:To move an electric resistance field by connecting non-linear impedance elements with constant voltage semiconductor switches in series. CONSTITUTION:In case of using the non-linear impedance elemnts for an electric discharge lamp lighting device, plural non-linear impedance elements having different electric resistance fields are connected in parallel to sustain lighting energy for a long period and light the lamp stably without generating flicker. To form non-linear impedance, the constant voltage semiconductor switches Dz (Dz1-Dz3) are connected with the non-linear impedance elements Cn (Cn1-Cn3) in series. Voltage to be applied to the non-linear impedance elements is controlled by selecting the operating voltage applied to the constant voltage semiconductor switches Dz. Consequently, an apparent electric resistance field in a series circuit consisting of the non-linear impedance elements and constant voltage semiconductor switches can be moved. |
