A document file having two covers (1, 2) which are interconnected by a joint and a spine, flexible tongues (5) being fastened on the spine and small tubes (10), in each case aligned with a tongue, being fastened on the opposite cover. The technical problem of the invention is to design the document file in such a way that the tongues can be substantially longer than the small tubes without any difficulties and that the documents can be held on the small tubes when the file document is closed. Furthermore, functioning is to be ensured even without using a clamping rail. The small tubes (10) merge at the base into a duct (8) directed at the edge of the cover away from the spine. <IMAGE>
