PURPOSE:To ensure good reproduction of picture signals, by discriminating the presence or absence of signals given from two heads to decide whether the picture signals are stored for each frame or each field. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing signals detected by magnetic head H1' and H2' are supplied to a signal processing circuit 15 for reproduction via reproducing amplifiers 19 and 19' and then a changeover switch 26. While an RF detecting circuit 28 discriminates the presence or absence of the reproducing signal and then feeds an output of level H or L to a switch control circuit 34 in response to the presence or absence of the reproducing signal. A VD separating circuit 30 separates a vertical syncrhonizing signal (VD) from the reproduced RF signal and feeds it to a switch pulse generator 32. Then a switch pulse is sent to the control part 34. The part 34 switches the H and L sides of the switch 26 with each field period while pictures are recorded for each frame. While the part 34 keeps the switch 26 at the H level when the pictures are recorded for each field. Thus, the good reproduction of picture signals is performed. |
