The peristaltic pump has tube-constricting rollers (1 to 6) which roll on the curved tube (15). These tube-constricting rollers (1 to 6) are driven by an external, annular, revolving drive member (7) and roll on the extended side which is on the outside with regard to the tube curvature. As a result, the rolling friction is considerably reduced compared to that in known peristaltic pumps, where the rollers always roll on the compressed side of the tube on the inside of the curvature. As a result, the stress the tube is subject to, and the power input, are reduced. <IMAGE>
