PURPOSE:To input many phrases onto a character panel face of a small area, and to improve the operability, by providing at least two areas and properly using them, to one key word mentioned on the character panel face. CONSTITUTION:Current flows from a pen driving circuit 3 and a magnetic field is generated from the tip part of an input pen 2. This magnetic field is magnetically coupled by a loop, and this output is detected by an X coordinate detecting circuit 4 and a Y coordinate detecting circuit 5. As a result, a position on a character panel face 1 indicated by the pen 2 is detected, and this position information is transferred to a converting circuit 6. Subsequently, the position information is converted to a character code string by a conversion table. When the position information indicates the second area (a11-anm) of a blank, its position information is converted to all the character code strings. When said information indicates the first area (b11-bnm), it is converted to a character code string after a special code. |
