The watch case is composed of four pieces. The sapphire glass (3) is held in place between the calibre (4) and an intermediate piece (5). These two pieces are fixed by pressure fitment to one another. The intermediate piece is pressure fitted to a cage-holder (13) and compresses a seal (15) on a shoulder of the cage-holder. Finally, the back (12), fixed by catch to the cage-holder, carries a third seal (14). The seal (10), fitted into a groove (9) in the intermediate piece provides for the waterproofing of the sapphire glass which, by virtue of its fixing as two separate pieces, can be produced with a smaller thickness than was possible hitherto. <IMAGE>
