PURPOSE:To make the expansion operation achievable with the highest thermal efficiency, by alternating the position of a backpressure regulating plate in a back pressure groove according to variations of pressure at the discharge side and pressure at the suction side, while setting the suction angle down to an optimum value. CONSTITUTION:When pressure P1 at the suction side of hydraulic fluid drops, variations of the pressure P1 is transmitted to a lower air-tight chamber 23 located at the upside of a back pressure groove 6, and a difference in pressure between the said chamber 23 and an upper air-tight chamber 22 comes smaller whereby such force that pulls a back pressure regulator plate 17 upward becomes weak so that the said plate 17 moves downward by force of a coil spring 18. With this motion, since a suction angle theta increases, a suction hydraulic fluid volume V also increases and thereby an expansion machine can be always set in operation with the highest thermal efficiency under the given conditions. |
