PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To choose a method of expression according to a purpose by applying information on a plurality of layouts to the same design document and at the same time to simply and efficiently perform processing such as retrieval and update of documents. SOLUTION: With respect to the design document including diagrams, this managing system has a means of separating logic information which is a logical description on components appearing in the diagrams from layout information on the diagrams and managing their relations with each other, and a means of storing/exchanging the separated information in an open form.
