PURPOSE:To position stably and surely a head on a desired track, by comparing plural track numbers read by the head from plural adjacent sectors with each other. CONSTITUTION:The head performs a following at a track precedent by 10 tracks on this side of an objective track and reads out the track number by the head to a track precedent by one track on this side of the objective track for the purpose of accuracy. When the readout values tried three times are the track number corresponding to a track precedent by one track on this side of the objective track, it is regarded as correct operation and if the readout values tried three times are dissident, the ID of the next sector group is read three times further to confirm the track number. When the head reaches the track precedent by one track on this side of the objective track surely in this way, the track number is read further, and if the number is not wrong, the read/write of data is done on the desired sector. |
