FUEL INJECTION PUMP FOR INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To stabilize the fuel injection characteristic and spark advance characteristic of a fuel injection pump by a constitution wherein an actuating member actuating a rotary lever with a pinion gear constantly in one direction of a timer rack is interposed between the timer rack and a timer pin. CONSTITUTION:A fuel injection pump Z sends fuel under pressure by reciprocating a plunger 3. An annular valve 5 is made to slide relatively to the plunger 3 to control the quantity of injected fuel, and is displaced in the direction of the shaft of the plunger 3 to adjust the timing of fuel injection. A twisted coil spring 16 actuating a rotary lever 10 with a pinion gear constantly toward one side of the timer rack 7 is interposed between the timer rack 7 and a timer pin 8. Since this constitution enables the absorption of the shaking of both members 7 and 8 due to the backlash of a gear member, the idling of the annular valve 5 is eliminated and the fuel injection characteristic and spark advance characteristic of the pump can be stabilized.
