A centreboard mounting for windsurfing boards has a centreboard case (4) which is inserted into the windsurfing board (1) and into which the centreboard can be inserted from above and is pivotably mounted at its top part in guide grooves by bearing pins on either side. At least one further groove (16) for accommodating brake strips with a friction lining is provided in each side wall of the centreboard case (4) bonded in place in a recess (3) of the windsurfing board (1) by polyurethane foam, and on both sides the top part of the centreboard has a grained surface or a surface roughened in some other way. The friction lining of the brake strips consists of a plastic fibre felt, and the brake strips are interchangeable so that brake strips of various thicknesses can be used. <IMAGE>
