摘要 The invention provides a device for automatic expansion compensation during the clamping of a workpiece on a machine tool, in particular a deep-hole drilling machine, in which the workpiece held in clamping elements undergoes thermal expansion during the machining, which thermal expansion is determined via at least one of the clamping elements by the force increase developing on this clamping element and is used for re-adjustment at the clamping element, which re-adjustment permits expansion compensation to any extent without the applied force in the clamping elements consequently increasing, so that the same applied force always prevails at the workpiece. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the workpiece can be clamped in place by means of a hydraulically operable thrust piston with counterstay, and that a pressure regulator is connected to the hydraulic circuit of the thrust piston, which pressure regulator responds to a pressure rise at the thrust piston and reduces the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder of the thrust piston to the previous working pressure.
