The invention relates to a levelling tool for preparing the sand, chipping or mortar bed during the laying of slabs and paving stones. Use is made of the fact that the surface of already laid slabs, stones or boundary elements, such as kerbstones, lies in a plane which is parallel to the plane of the sand bed and the like to be prepared and which is at a distance from this somewhat smaller than the slab or stone thickness. This is because the bed is also compacted during the laying. The tool according to the invention is, for example, constructed as shown in the Figure accompanying the Abstract. A carrier part (2.1.-2.9.) consists of a front connecting element (2.1) and a rear connecting element (2.2), four runners (2.3-2.6), a handle (2.7) and two screws (1.2. and 1.3.) which project from the front connecting element and which hold the levelling plate by means of the two wing nuts (3.) on the guide slots (1.2. and 1.3.) which also serve for the vertical adjustability of the levelling plate. It is used by moving or displacing it by its first part, designated as the carrier part, over the laid slabs, stone or set kerbstones, whilst the other part, namely the levelling plate, carried by the carrier part simultaneously levels the bed. The amount by which the levelling plate extends lower than the underside of the carrier part is determined by the slab or stone thickness and by the compactability of the bed material and can preferably be adjusted on the levelling appliance. <IMAGE> |
