A regenerable electrical film capacitor, which consists of at least two metal films (2, 3) of opposite polarity, between which a dielectric film (4) produced by glow-polymerisation is located, has a sheath which consists of a housing base (1) and a cover (13). The housing base (1) is at the same time the supporting material for the capacitor construction. Arranged in the housing base (1) are grooves (9, 10) in which connecting elements (11, 12) are soldered to metal films (7, 8). The metal films (7, 8) are connected via contacting strips (5, 6) to the metal films (2, 3), which are of opposite polarity, of the capacitor. The housing base (1) and cover (13) are bonded to one another. <IMAGE>
