<p>The oil injection monitor gives audible and/or visual indication if the frequency of oil injection into a separately lubricated two stroke engine is insufficient. An electric contact (11) is incorporated in the injection controller (3), delivering a train of electrical pulses as the injection controller operates. If the contact remains closed for sufficiently long an alarm is initiated. The contact is formed from a metallic ball on a conductive spring. When oil is injected (18) the ball is forced clear of its seat and the current interrupted. The contact is in the charging circuit (7,8,9,10) of the gate of a semiconductor switch (6). If the contact is not regularly opened the switch (6) operates and activates the warning device (1).</p> |
