CHARACTER INPUTTING DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the operability of character input when rejection of recognition is generated, by inputting character based on the result of the character recognizing processing and the frequency of appearance of character. CONSTITUTION:Character described on a document 1 is scanned at a scanning means 2 and a character recognizing means 3 obtians the similarity between the obtained input character pattern and the reference pattern. When the character is recogized correctly, the code of the recognized character is outputted. If the rejection of recognition is generated, the corresponding similarity is given to a display means 5. The frequency of appearance of the characters being input object is obtained from an appearance frequency table 7 for each character, calculates with the similarity obtained at a character regonizing means and the recognition candidate character is obtained and displayed.
