PURPOSE:To apply frictional force to a cable in either pulling or returning direction to control the operation of a control cable device by fitting a friction piece decreasing in the inside diameter with the inner surface of an outer cable in the cable. CONSTITUTION:An outer cable 21 formed by a coil trapezoidal in section has an inner surface 21a tapering off along the axis. A friction piece 22 coiled in the same pitch as that of the outer cable, the outside diameter 22a of which is larger than the minimum inside diameter 21b of the outer cable 21, has an inclined surface 22b parallel to the inner surface 21a of the cable 21 and a slit 22c. The numeral 17 is an inner liner, 18 is a cable and 19 is a cover. When the cable 18 is pulled in one direction, the friction piece stops so that there is no frictional resistance, and when it is pulled in the other direction, the friction piece is decreased in diameter by a wedge action to increase frictional resistance. |
