PURPOSE:To obtain bind spun yarns of high quality, by forming many free fibers in the edge part of a drafted beltlike fleece with a pneumatic pipe having a suction hole of special shape provided between draft rollers and an air false twisting nozzle, and false twisting the resultant fleece. CONSTITUTION:A sliver 8 consisting of a short fiber bundle is fed to a drafting zone 10 consisting of roller groups 1-3, drafted and delivered in the form of a belt. The resultant beltlike fleece is then introduced into a pneumatic pipe 4 of slitlike cross section having a suction hole 21 with wider ends 25 and 25 than the central part 24 thereof to liberate much ends of short fibers on the surface thereof (particularly at both edges of the fleece). The resultant fleece is then introduced into an air false twisting nozzle 5 to give the aimed bind spun yarns having a large amount of fibers wound around the fiber bundle. |
