Guide and transmission for laterally loaded agricultural machine - uses aft road wheel and steering wheel on opposite ends of oscillating member

The transmission guides and transmits drive to an agricultural machine subject to significant lateral load e.g. a stubble plough. The machine uses a frame (1) mounted on wheels to mount blades of ploughshares with, a trailing load-bearing wheel (9) and a steering wheel (25) mounted on the opposite ends of an oscillating chassis (15). The two wheels are offset in the transverse sense and thus run on different parallel paths, whilst sharing the machine re-action forces during operational conditions. The chassis may comprise an assymetric 'U' shaped member and may be mounted on a beam (16) fixed to the frame, being equipped (17-19) to adjust the angular relationship between frame and beam. Two shafts (22,27) may secure the respective chassis legs (21,26) to the beam, the steering wheel being mounted on a pivotable fork (41) fixed to the bar (40).
