The glass panel 8 of the window is of the laminated form having glass sheets 8A and 8B separated by a laminate sheet 8C, the outer sheet 8A and laminate 8C of which are partially cut away to provide a rebate 78. The rebatted edge may be gripped by a sealing member 80 of a sun roof 8; or extend into a window guide channel (52 Fig. 2) of flocked plastics or rubber material held within a metal mounting channel (34), or the rebatted edge of a windscreen may be received in a sealing strip (Fig. 4).
