摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a multipurpose laser device by a method wherein a fiber wave guide and a mirror wave guide are equipped and utilized alternatively resulting in the transmission of operating guiding light, and further the wave guide in operation is automatically recognized. CONSTITUTION:When the fiber wave guide 8 is used, almost all of the laser light from a light source 3 come into the fiber 10 for a guiding light, and is not incident into a detector 7. The guiding light from a light source 2 is superposed on the optical axis of the CO2 gas laser operating light 1 by mirrors 4 and 5, and outputted through the fiber wave guide 9. When the mirror wave guide 15 is used, the guiding light is superposed similarly on the operating light from a light source 1 via the mirrors 4 and 5. A reflection mirror 16 of 90% reflectance or more is arranged by replacement on the light way of the light source 3, and the guiding light is incident into the detector through a splitter 6. Thus, it can be confirmed which wave guide is in operation, and, when a remarkable difference is given to the amounts of incident light, discrimination is not mistaken. By this constitution, processing can be performed safely and securely by selecting wave guides surely according to purposes.
