A monitoring apparatus for a multi-row seed planting machine (10), includes an electronic circuit e.g. a programmed microprocessor (34) for receiving and storing data corresponding to the distance travelled, for calculating from the data the seed population planted in each row over successive distances, for storing a predetermined plural of the calculated seed populations and for averaging the stored populations. A user accessible control and display panel (46) co-operates with the microprocessor to produce observable indications of the row planting the lowest population, of the average value of the population planted in all rows-and of the row planting the highest population. <IMAGE> |
