<p>PURPOSE:After polymerization of polyfunctional monomer and acrylic ester in the presence of a diene polymer, an aromatic vinyl, methacrylic ester and vinyl cyanide are added to effect polymerization to produce the titled resin with high weather resistance, moldability and good appearance. CONSTITUTION:Emulsion polymerization of 95-60pts.wt. of monomers consisting of (i) 0.1-20wt% of polyfunctional monomer, (ii) 50-99.9wt% of 1-13C alkyl acrylate and (iii) 0-30wt% of other vinyl compounds copolymerizable with components (i) and (ii) is carried out in the presence of 5-40pts.wt. of a diene polymer until the polymerization rate reaches 50-93%, then the polymerization is stopped. Then, the polymerization 95-50pts.wt. of a monomer mixture consisting (iv) 0-100wt% of an aromatic vinyl compound, (v) 0-100wt% of a methacrylic ester and (vi) 0-40wt% of vinyl cyanide is conducted in the presence of 5-50pts.wt. of the resultant graft polymer.</p> |
