PURPOSE:To produce a rolling roll having the special shape and service characteristics requiring strength and toughness in the neck end part thereof by forming the cylindrical shell part, cylindrical core part, bearing part and neck end part of said roll of specific materials. CONSTITUTION:The titled method relates with a special rolling roll which has the slender neck shape of 0.8-1.2lN/lB ratio between neck length and body length of 3.8-13.0lN/DN ratio between neck length and neck diameter and in the neck end part of which large stress is generated. The cylindrical shell part 1a thereof is formed of an adamite material or alloy cast iron material; on the other hand, the cylindrical core part 1b and bearing part 2 are formed of a spheroidal graphite cast iron material having 40-50 hardness HS, 40-55kg/ mm.<2> tensile strength and 0.5-1.5% elongation. One or both of the neck end parts 3 are formed of a steel material having 30-45 hardness HS, 55kg/mm.<2> tensile strength and >=1.5% elongation. The three parts mentioned above are welded by fusion to one body. |
