PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material excllent in developed color density, color-forming sensitivity or the like, by incorporating a benzamide derivative into a heat-sensitive recording material comprising an electron- donating colorless dye and an electron-accepting compound. CONSTITUTION:At least one benzamide derivative represented by formula I (wherein R represents an alkyl group which may be substituted, an aralkyl group or an aryl group, in which a benzene ring may have a substituent such as a halogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group thereon) and having a melting point of 40-200 deg.C is incorporated into the heat-sensitive recording material. An electron-donating colorless dye (e.g., a triarylmethane base compound, or a diphenylmethane base compound) and an electron-accepting compound (e.g., a phenolic compound or an organic acid) are separately dispersed into solutions of water-soluble polymers, the resultant liquids are mixed with each other, and an inorganic filler or the like is added thereto to obtain a coating liquid. |
