The apparatus, which serves for conducting preliminary tests for material preparation and for wet finishing, especially for dyeing, bleaching or washing of textile material, in a way approaching practice on an industrial scale, comprises at least one dyeing bucket (11) open at the top and a textile-material carrier (15) which projects through the upper bucket orifice (11a) into the bucket (11) and which can move in the latter up and down and preferably at the same time in rotation or by pivoting to and fro about its longitudinal axis. The material (16) to be treated is suspended on the textile-material carrier (15). The apparatus has a liquor circulation line (13) and a circulating pump (20). This line has [omission in original] liquor is sprayed in the form of a jet onto the textile material (16) out of a spray nozzle (14) located at the upper open end (11a) of the bucket (11), whilst the liquor collecting on the bottom of the bucket is sucked into an open inlet end (22) of the liquor circulation line again by means of the circulating pump (20). <IMAGE>
