PURPOSE:To obtain a measuring pole, which has a simple internal structure and is easy to handle, by constituting a plurality of pipes so that they can be freely expanded and contracted like a telescope, and providing a position, at which a height is read, at the top end of the outside pipe. CONSTITUTION:The measuring pole M is constituted by a plurality of pipes I 1, II1...n so that they can be freely expanded and contracted like a telescope. In this pole M, a position, at which the height from a reference surface N is read, is provided at an upper end (a) of an outside pipe (n). The numerical value of a scale at an uppermost end of the pipe I 1, which is extended to become the highest stage, is made to be the length of the pipe (n) having the reading upper end (a). Namely, the scale of the highest end (b) is made to be 12, which shows 12 decameters of the length of the pipe (n) having the upper end (a) (the height of the eye of an observer having an average stature is made to be 120cm and the numerical value of the scale is made simple). The numerical values are sequentially increased from 12 to 13, 14... in the downward directions as the length increased on the scale. Free stop devices (d), (e) and (f) are provided at the ends of the pipes I 1, II1..., other than the pipe (n) having the reading end (a). |
