PURPOSE:To allow a cushion device mounted in a cylinder to continue its normal operation even in case the stroke of the cylinder is changed, by providing a fluid passage in a rod and forming a recess, into which the projecting end of the rod is inserted, in a piston. CONSTITUTION:A fluid passage 10 to the head end side of a cylinder is open to the tip of a rod 6, and flow passages 17 and 18, on which a needle valve 14 and a check valve 15, respectively, are provided intercommunicate a cushion room 16 and a groove 12 part in the rod 6. Thereby with the tip of the rod 6 closed with a recess 13, fluid in the cushion room 16 flows out through a narrow flow passage limited by the needle valve 14, and the cushion room 16 increases in its pressure to brake a piston 4, which results in decelerating the speed thereof. |
