PURPOSE:To obtain the entitled emulsion having uniform habit and good monodispersibility, by adding a sensitizing dye into a soln. contg, silver halide from the time of completion of preparation of core grains till the end of attaching shells. CONSTITUTION:In the method for preparing of a silver halide core-shell type emulsion, at least one of sensitizing dyes, such as cyanines, merocyanines, styryls, hemicyanines, and oxonolesis added into a soln. contg. silver halide from the end of preparation of core grains, such as silver halide grains contg. >=50mol% silver chloride, till the end of attaching the shells. As a result, a silver halide core-shell type emulsion having the same habit and good monodispersibility can be prepared, and an emulsion stronger in adsorption of dye and higher in spectral sensitivity can be also obtained. |
