The invention relates to a magnet system for photographic cameras having a pulse-controlled permanent magnet and at least one holding electromagnet for triggering the camera and controlling the shutter. The aim and object of the invention is in an uncomplicated fashion to avoid deposits of dust on the bearing surfaces between the pulse-controlled permanent magnet and its armature and to guide back once again into working position in an uncomplicated fashion the armature or armatures of the holding electromagnet or electromagnets after termination of exposure. This object is achieved according to the invention when an armature of the pulse-controlled permanent magnet is constructed as a component which returns automatically to its initial phase immediately after its triggering function and an armature of the holding electromagnet is constructed as a component which upon cocking of the shutter reaches the position in which it bears against the magnet yoke, a common actuator being applied for both armature returns. <IMAGE>
