Presses for the manufacture of wood glue binders have a plurality of pressing chambers, along the length of which are arranged a plurality of pressing assemblies which are provided with a pressing ram and are usually hydraulic. Each chamber is designed so as only to press one wood glue binder as it is not possible to press a plurality of wood glue binders situated next to one another with one pressing assembly, as the binders are of different heights. The press according to the invention is characterised by a pressure and level equalising element which can be attached to each pressing assembly and consists of a closed casing, a plurality of piston rods being guided through the casing wall facing the wood glue binders to be pressed, which piston rods can be jointly acted upon by a volume of hydraulic fluid connected to the casing. An even distribution of pressure ensures that the same force is transmitted to each piston, so that a plurality of wood glue binders of different heights situated next to one another are nonetheless pressed with the same degree of force. <IMAGE>
