In a sausage-slicing machine, a slide which serves to receive a product to be sliced is moved to and fro in front of a rotating cutter. The slide consists of a guide duct open towards the circular cutter and of a bottom wall lying below the product to be sliced and a rear wall laterally supporting the product to be sliced. A clamp, via a handle provided on it, presses firmly the product to be sliced situated in the guide duct. The clamp can be slid longitudinally in the direction in which the guide duct runs. In order that the product to be sliced is not displaced during the to-and-fro movement of the slide, it is proposed to arrange, in the end region of the guide duct which faces the circular cutter, a support finger which bears against the product to be sliced on the opposite side in relation to the rear wall and is adjustable, in its distance position in relation to the rear wall, transversely to the direction in which the guide duct runs.
