In multi-shell chimneys, thermal expansion movements occur between the inner pipe and the chimney casing, imposing special requirements on the lining of the cleaning doors. In contrast to hitherto known products, the slide lining for chimney soot doors fulfils all requirements, since, with a connection piece placed in the inner pipe and with the front plate of the slide lining sliding on a frame in each phase of movement it covers the expansion gaps in the casing brick and seals the inner pipe if the cleaning space cross section is constant. Even horizontal movements and settling phenomena are compensated for by the slide lining. Clamping bars fastened to the frame hold the slide lining, in whose front plate the door shoulder profile is embossed, in the slide plane and in the connection to the chimney. The frame with cleaning connection edges is screwed to the casing brick and fixes the casing brick recess. A cover, which can be flush-fitted by plastering, forms an visual closure, acts as an additional seal and protects from soiling. All the parts can be mounted rapidly and in dry form, without auxiliary materials, and are maintenance-free and can later be interchanged without consequential damage. The slide lining for chimney soot doors is provided as an overall unit in a plurality of sizes to fit existing soot door sizes, preferably for the 13.5 x 30 cm, 20 x 30 cm and 25 x 30 cm doors, or for chimneys with more than six full floors, with correspondingly larger slide surfaces.
