Disclosed is a compound represented by the formula below or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a solvate of the compound or the salt, which is useful as an inhibitor of 11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type I. wherein R1 represents an alkyl which may be substituted or the like; one of R2 and R4 represents a group represented by the formula:-Y-R5 [wherein Y represents-O-or the like, and R5 represents a substituted alkyl (in which the substituent is a cycloalkyl which may be substituted or the like), a branched alkyl which may be substituted or the like], and the other of R2 and R4 represents a hydrogen or an alkyl which may be substituted; R3 represents a group represented by the formula:-C(=O)-Z-R6 (wherein Z represents a group represented by-NR7-or-NR7-W-, R6 represents a cycloalkyl which may be substituted or the like, R7 represents a hydrogen or an alkyl which may be substituted, and W represents an alkylene which may be substituted); and X represents =N-or the like, provided that a combination of a 2-(morpholino)etoxy as R2, an N-(1-adamantyl)carbamoyl as R3 and a benzyl as R1 is excluded.
