PURPOSE:To reduce the overhead of a system and to shorten the time required for loading by making a submonitor program resident on a main storage device when a test program is executed and reducing the capacity of an external storage area where the test program is arranged. CONSTITUTION:A submonitor program 36 which presents a test sequence common to individual test programs 35 or common functions is loaded from a magnetic disk device 29. The submonitor program 36 is resident on the memory and continues to present various functions to test programs 35 until the execution of test programs is all terminated and test programs 35 are not used furthermore. The test program 35 designated by an operator is loaded in one module unit, and the test is executed. At this time, each test program 35 is diagnosed with the preliminarily loaded submonitor program 36. If the execution of all test programs 35 designated by the operator is not completed, test programs are loaded and executed again.
