Insecticidal collars for animals contain at least one insecticide (I) and at least 1 essential 18-22C unsatd. fatty acid (II). (I) may be an insecticide of the organochlorine, organophosphorus, carbamate, pyrethroid or formamidine type. (II) may be oleic, linoleic, linolenic, arachidic, 11,14-eicosadienoic or docosahexanoic (sic) acid, opt. in the form of a 1-4C alkyl ester, the prefd. (II) being vitamin F. Incorporation of (II) suppresses skin disorders in animals wearing the collars, these disorders being due to a deficiency of essential fatty acids in the epithelial system. |
