PURPOSE:To attain high speed reading and to reduce noise, by scanning only a light source and a mirror in a facsimile, etc., and setting an original upward at the bottom of a contact glass. CONSTITUTION:After the 2nd running body is moved to a reading start position B', the 1st and the 2nd running bodies start moving in the speed difference of 2:1. When an illuminating device 21, the 1st, the 2nd and the 3rd mirrors 22, 23, 24 are moved to inverted positions C, C' as shown in dotted lines, the 1st and the 2nd running bodies are inverted and returned to the first waiting positions A, A'. Reading is executed in the range from the reading start positions B, B' to the inverted positions C, C'. That is, a light source 21a is illuminated, the reflecting mirror 30 of the original is refracted left with the 1st mirror 22, directed to an image forming lens 25 via the 2nd and the 3rd mirrors 23, 24. and focused on a CCD 26 with the said lens 25 for reading. |
