<p>The chain mail gloves are partly covered with superficial strips or patches of an adherent material i.e. rubber or a flexible plastics, to provide additional grip and protection from heat and/or splinters when handling hot and/or rough steel plate etc. Separate superficial strips run along the fingers but across the palms or the backs of the hand, for an optimum combination of protection and flexibility. The surfaces of the patches may feature minor bumps or recesses as a further aid to grip.</p> |
