PURPOSE:An element luminescent in electric field, coloring white, having long luminance life and small change in luminous color with time, obtained by using a mixed fluorescent substance of a specific zinc sulfide-based fluorescent substance coloring green and a specified orange coloring fluorescent substance in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:(A) 1.0pt.wt. green coloring fluorescent substance of ZnS: Cu, Br comprising copper as an activator and bromine as a coactivator is blended with (B) 0.5-4pts.wt. orange coloring fluorescent substance of ZnS: Cu, Mn comprising copper as an activator and manganese as a coactivator, to give the desired element luminescent in electric field. The element, for example, is obtained by forming the transparent electrically-conductive layer 1 consisting of In2O3: Sn, etc. on the glass base 2 by deposition, making the luminous layer 3 consisting of a mixture of SrTiO3, etc. and the mixed fluorescent substance on the layer, and preparing further the back electrode having Al, etc. by vacuum metallizing on the luminous layer. |
