A radial turbine comprises axially displaceable guide baffles which can be displaced into a first position in which the guide baffles pass through the annular space surrounding the turbine wheel on its circumference, and which can be displaced into a second position in which the guide baffles engage in an annular chamber which bounds the annular space on the sides. In order to reduce the thermal stress on the guide baffles, the annular chamber is arranged in the bearing housing of the radial turbine.
