The control circuit keeps the cutting speed constant by keeping the ratio of the feed speed to the bandsaw speed con-stant during cutting. This ratio is kept constant by keeping the cutting power constant. The resistance to cutting is measured to produce the aforementioned ratio, which is kept con-stant by controlling the feed speed. The best feed speed is, therefore, always selected regardless of the nature of the material being cut. This, cutting efficiency is increased.
