The seating unit comprises a padded seat support (5) and a padded knee support (5) which are carried by a frame (6, 7) such that the seat support is on a higher level than the knee support. The frame comprises two straight members which intersect and are connected (10). The seat support is carried at the upper end (8) of one member (6) end and the knee support at the upper end (9) of the other (7) member, which is pref. slotted whilst the longitudinal axes (XX, YY) of the two members are in a common vertical (median) plane.
