Cyclodextrin was produced from starch employing either a filtrate or enzyme prepn. obtained from a strain of Micrococcus. Thus, Micrococcus M-849 strain was inoculated into me-dium contg. sol. starch 4.0, soybean powd. 1.0, yeast ext. 0.3, MSg 0.3, K2HPO4 0.2, MgSO4.7H2O 0.05, and CaCl22H2O 0.03%. This was incubated at 32≦̸C for 3 days in shaken flask. The culture broth was cooled and treated with cold acetone. The resulting ppt. was harvested by centrifugation. Sol. starch was dissolved in H2O contg. CaCl22H2O. After adjusting pH 6.0, enzyme ppt. was added and reacted at 60≦̸C for 48 hrs. Cyclodextrin was gained by treating the soln. with active C, and cooling.
