Method and arrangement for shaping a frustoconical casing 2 prefabricated in thermoplastic material, the small end of which is closed and which is intended, after shaping over a model 1, to constitute an inner casing in a leg prosthesis. During shaping, the casing is heated to workability and is sucked against the model. The object of the method and the arrangement is rapidly and conveniently to produce a shaped casing with good accuracy of shape and uniform material thickness at the same time as the casing is given an intact and transparent surface structure. The method is characterized in that the opening portion of the casing is fixed in a support arrangement 9, 10 which, together with the casing, is guided over the model after heating. Once contact has been established between the casing and the model, the support arrangement is pulled downwards along the model, the casing coming into sealing engagement with a sealing means 5 so that the model is enclosed, after which the air in the casing is sucked out and the casing is shaped. The arrangement is characterized by a support arrangement 9, 10 with inner and outer engagement surfaces which can be applied against the opening portion of the casing. The support arrangement has a through-opening through which the model 1 can be guided, and can also be connected to a pulling arrangement 12. The arrangement also has a holder 3 for the model and also a sealing disc 5 under the model, the surface of the model being connected to a vacuum pump. <IMAGE> |
