PURPOSE:To enable high-quality images to be recorded on a medium with low surface smoothness to be recorded by recording an image into a medium to be recorded using a transfer recording medium having a physical governing transfer properties which changes with optical and thermal energies. CONSTITUTION:A motor is driven to feed a transfer recording medium from a supply roll 2, and light and heat are given to a transfer recording layer 1b of the transfer recording medium 1 by a recording part 3 in accordance with an image signal to form an image. Then when recording is performed using red color, a heating element corresponding to the red color of an image signal among a heating element array 3b is not energized, and instead that corresponding to the white color of the image signal is energized, turning ON a fluorescent lamp 3c for uniform irradiation. In this way, a negative image is formed on the transfer recording layer 1b by controlling a recording head 3a according to black, red and white image signals, carrying the transfer recording medium 1. After this, the transfer recording medium 1 and a recording paper 9 are overlapped at a transfer part 5, and both are thermally pressed together to obtain an image formed in the transfer recording medium 1, which is in turn, transferred to the recording paper 9. As a mentioned above, the formation and transfer of an image using the transfer recording medium are sequentially performed. Therefore it is possible to record a sharp image even in the medium to be recorded with comparatively lower surface smoothness. |
