PULL-TOP CONTAINER CLOSURE

A pull-top container comprises a preformed opening with substantially paralled lateral edges in the container top, and a closure provided with a grip and guided slidably along the lateral edges of the opening. The closure is provided with an uninterrupted peripheral groove matching the shape of the preformed opening. A stop is provided on the closure to limit its sliding travel on the container top. The peripheral groove has a reduced depth in the area of the grip, as compared with the remaining periphery. The margin al area of the preformed opening, adjacent the junction between the closure and the grip, is provided with scored lines that radiate from the periphery, and that are adapted to rupture to permit passage of the adjacent end of the closure when the container is to be opened.
