PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance, undercoating characteristics for painting and adhesion, by incorporating prescribed amts. of water dispersible silica, hydrolyzate of a tri- and/or dialkoxy silane compd., a phosphoric acid compd., etc. and using said compd. CONSTITUTION:A titled compsn. consisting of (A) 0.5-250g/l water dispersible silica, (B) 0.1-250g/l (in terms of SiO2) hydrolyzate of tri- and/or dialkoxy silane compd., (C) 0.5-600g/l a cationic resin and/or amphoteric ionic resin, (D) 0.5-250g/l a phosphoric acid compd., and <=700g/l (A+B+C+D). The metallic surface treated with such compsn. is provided with corrosion resistance and undercoating characteristics for painting and is improved in adhesion. |
